We spent a little bit of our afternoon under a cloudy day in little Ennis, Texas. It felt really easy — the kind that doesn’t ask much of you.
Mikayla and RJ showed up excited and relaxed, and we immediately started talking about how completely unhinged Texas weather can be. One minute it feels perfect, the next you’re wondering if you should’ve brought a jacket or sunscreen… or both. Instead of stressing, we just leaned into the time we had, which honestly feels like real life anyway.
Ava was so easygoing. Happy to be with her parents, happy to be held, happy just being her. Watching Mikayla and RJ with her felt very this season — full, tender, and already moving faster than anyone expects.
I don’t believe family photos should look perfect to matter. I don’t ask kids to say cheese or parents to pretend everything is polished and calm. I don’t care if outfits match or if someone gets a little distracted or needs a break. What matters to me is connection — the way you naturally reach for your baby, the way your partner looks at you when you’re not thinking about the camera, the quiet in-between moments that feel like home.
This session was full of that. And I’m really grateful I got to document it for them.
If you’re drawn to photos that feel honest — not posed, not forced, just real — I’d love to photograph your family. You can reach out through my contact form whenever it feels right 🤍
